What we believe about Jesus, the Bible, and the Church

Our Beliefs

JESUS

Jesus Christ is at the center of everything. We believe that Jesus is the only one who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, took our sins upon Himself, died on the cross in our place, was buried in a tomb, and on the third day was resurrected, thereby fulfilling the Law and delivering salvation to all who would believe. We believe that Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.

THE GODHEAD

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is superior to all things and deserving of true worship.

The bible

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word, written by men under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is accurate, infallible, authoritative, and applicable to our everyday lives.

SALVATION

Our only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus took our sin upon himself, carried it to the cross, and died as the once-for-all sacrifice, taking our sins to the grave. His resurrection proves that there is forgiveness for sins. Salvation comes by faith in Jesus Christ and not by human works. Our personal salvation is proved inwardly by the direct witness of the Holy Spirit, and outwardly by living a life of righteousness and holiness.

BAPTISM

We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin. Through baptism we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT

We believe in the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He ministers to His people through words of wisdom, words of knowledge, faith, healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, tongues, and interpretation of tongues. (Mark 16:15-18; Acts 5:16; 2 Corinthians 12:1-11)

THE CHURCH

The church is the body of Christ, established and commissioned by Jesus and empowered by the Holy Spirit. We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together.
